HOT LAZY SUMMER DAY

President Bush called for the nation to conserve fuel whenever possible. So I am doing my part by staying home for the day.
So, as I type this, I am enjoying a lazy Labor Day monday watching some exciting U.S. Open tennis on TV. Its amazing Agassi still has the legs to compete with the young guys out there. We are the same age. There is still hope yet.


Last night I watched this terrific film: Schultze gets the Blues . It is this story about this suddenly retired chubby german guy finding happiness through playing of his accordian and taking a trip down the Louisiana Delta. Low key deadpan humor. Check it out if you get the chance.

Laika is a Samoyed Breed. Named after the Samoyed people of Siberia. They used Samoyeds as companians for hunting and sled pulling.
The thing that attracted me to this breed is that they are known for their smiles. Because they are all white , the black outline around their mouth is really pronounced; giving the impression that they are smiling all the time. It is great therapy to come home after a difficult day at work and find a dog welcoming you with a big smile; of course, she could just be panting from being overheated in the California heat; and silently saying "kill me , kill me now!" But hey, she sure looks happy doing it.
