MY DINNER WITH WOW

World of Warcraft. It all started quite innocently as a daily diversion but eventually consumed most of my waking hours. Its addictive quality comes from the thoroughness with which the fantasy world replaces the not so thrilling “real” world. The often used term “WarCrack” is pretty accurate. Since I don’t drink or smoke or do drugs, maybe this was my body’s way of telling me I should be developing more rewarding hobbies.

Anyway, after quiting WOW for the past 2 weeks, I have gotten over the withdraw shakes and jitters; I feel like a newborn waking up to the beauties of the world; once again I will be stopping to smell the roses. Good to be back (P.S. If anyone’s interested in taking over a well equipped level 70 dwarf hunter with 3000 gold in the bank, let me know, “Laotse” is all yours. )

To kick my addiction I had to go back to my first love, reading. Read 3 books in a week, the best being "Celebrate Myself", the biography of Allen Gainsberg; now there was a guy who could positively say "I struggled, I loved, I celebrated, I lived!", what a life!

On a lighter note, Kobayashi failed to keep his 6-year straight hot dog eating winning streak alive. The king is dead, long live the King!

If they ever started a catagory for 100lbs or under contestants I'm pretty sure Miyuki would blow all comers away. I have seen her at a buffet table; there is something in the Japanese genes :)
