YOU ARE THE KING

風邪が治ってｍｉｍｉの復活。
嬉し、楽しクリスマスプレゼントオープン25日であります。
今年はお題を出してあって

• $100を越してはならぬ
• お互いが使えるものであること

パートナーからの贈り物は今年2人の間で流行ってた”チーズ”
の詰め合わせと、とっても貴重な”アイスワイン”（2人とも酒は飲めませんが）
私からは”鍋”と”体脂肪もでる体重計”でした。
もちろんLaikaにもピンクの髪飾りをプレゼントしました。
今夜"KING KONG"を観に行きました。
3時間という長い映画でしたが、とってもよかった。
隣でパートナーが泣いてました。こんなハートにぐっとくる映画は1ヶ月に一つでいい。疲れるから。
っと言ってました。
いい映画を見終わった後はなかなか席を立つことができない。映画の余韻が冷めなくて現実世界に
戻って来れなくなる。
隠れキャラ発見。
この俳優さんトム　ハンクスの息子さん、コリン君。
予告で来年の5月にやるダビンチコード（パパハンクス）もおもしろそうだ。

MERRY CHRISTMAS

Merry Christmas everyone!!!
This year we tried out a Leg of Lamb. It was quite Yummy if I do say so myself.


That large bone will give Laika quite a workout for the next few days.
Well hope everyone's enjoying this lovely time of year. See you guys all in 06'.

NIGHT VISITOR

Last night we finally found out why Laika was barking like crazy in the middle of the night. Turns out we have a guest. The Opossum just sat quietly on the dividing wall between our house and the neighbor's. It does not seems to be scared of either humans or Laika. It just quietly sat there and let us take it's photo. What do you think, kind of cute, in a ratty sort of way; I think we should keep it as a pet; but Miyuki seems to disagree.

FEEL THE X-MASS SPIRIT

Was walking the dog around the neighborhood tonight. Some of my neighbors really go hog wild doing up the Christmas lights. There seems to the a little bit of neighbor v. nighbor friendly competition going on. The electric company must love it.

DIGITAL PHOTOGRAPHY, THE GREAT EQUALIZER

So, I picked up this nice Minolta 5 mp camera to upgrade my first generation 2 MP Casio. It is really amazing how fast digital cameras are improving.


Digital photography, with the ability to take as many photos as the memory will hold, without the prohibitive expense of film, has given the average man-on-the-street the ability to capture some amazing images. Photography has truly been inherited by the great proletariat masses.
These are from the dog park this morning.

BEACH

もうすぐクリスマス。ご近所さんもイルミネーションがとってもきれい。
いろんなところで生クリスマスツリーを売っている。
デコレーションも家によって個性がでるんだろうなあ。
来年こそ挑戦してみよう。
Silver Lake近くのCafeいつも通りかかると混んでいるのであきらめてたけど、
今日は時間帯が遅かったので入れた。
ここはDogもOKなので散歩途中の人にとても人気がある。
クリスマスツリーを買いに来ている人で賑わっていたHome Depot。
さすが生だけあってこの辺りいったい、杉のいい匂いがした。
Hermosa Beachに行って来ました。散歩、ランニング、ビーチバレー、サーフィン、
自転車、ローラーブレード、日光浴みんな様々に楽しんでいました。

REST IN PEACE

Today being the Twenty Fifth anniversary of John Lennon’s death. I spent the afternoon listening to his Working Class Hero album. You have to admit, his work after the Beetles is really uneven in terms of quality; hit and miss at best; but the few great songs: “imagine”, “instant karma (we all shine on)”, “watching the wheels”, and “happy xmas (war is over)”, captured the feelings and mood of a whole generation.
I don’t care how stiff of a right-wing diehard you are, there is no way you don’t heave a few deep sigh and go hug your kids, after listening to “imagine”, alone in the dark. Great stuff! Resonates evermore in these troubled times.

MISHEARING

精神的に疲れた週だった。
こんな時には映画を見るに限る。
さてさて何を見ようかな？以前、NYのブロードウェイで見たミュージカルの映画版にしよう。
"mimi"役のRosario Dawson
なんてナイスバディーなんでしょう。パーフェクトでしょう。
この映画で歌われている1つの歌の歌詞で”I should tell you"
と何回も男女2人が掛け合って歌う場面があるのだが、どういうわけか
”愛してる”と聞こえてくるのだ。うーん、空耳アワーである。

来年の夏公開予定なのにもう紹介されている”パイレーツ　オブ　カリビアン２”
Johnny Deppはホントにいろんな役ができるよね。楽しみ。
Laikaのあんよ。かわいい！

CELTIC WOMEN

Celtic womenの番組を見た。
4人の女性が歌っているのだがとても心地よい気分になる。
エンヤが好きならたぶん気に入ると思う。
今日Terminologyの全テストが終わった。よかったー。
新しい本が必要になるため先生が安く購入できるWEBを教えてくれた。
amazonと同じ感じで”half”と言うらしい。

12月に入り、周りの家々でクリスマスライトのきれいなデコレーションがお目見えしてきた。
昨日はテレビでNYのクリスマスツリーの点灯式をやっていた。
クリスマスは東部の方が雰囲気があっていいなあ、と思う。
ここではなんせ昼間は半袖でいいくらいなのだから、、、。
