THE STATE OF THE UNION

I cannot believe this is the 5th State of the Union this guy has delivered. I guess I still have not accepted the fact that he is the President. Although I hate to be one of those guys who says “oh, he’s not mine!”; don’t want to sound bitter; Nevertheless, I can’t understand why the people in the red states gulps down his BS hook and sinker.

Watching this sham of a performance, it is like the guy is talking about an alternate universe; he seems to believe just because he is the President if he repeats the lies enough time they somehow become the truth. Oh, and what’s with all the standing ovations; give me a break. I think I like the British system better where there is heckling coming from the opposing party with every line Blair delivers. Of course Blair has the quick wit to deflect and parry the zingers; not like our guy who has to depend on a bunch of sycophants to kiss his ass every other sentence. Come on people, someone has to say it; THE EMPEROR HAS NO CLOTH!!

Ok, thats all the venting I'll do for the night.

On a lighter note, I think I have the most timid dog around. She's 50lbs but runs to mommy at the first sign of danger and will only play with dogs half her size. Sheeesh, wonder if it is true what they say that dogs take after their owner.

NEW CAMERA

今週末はチャイニーズnew yearである。
この辺りはアジア人が多いのでいたるところでお祝いムード
になっている。

このカメラがこれからブログでおおいに活躍することになりました。
パートナーもスタイリッシュでかわいいと大喜びだ。
これでわたしの財布とバッグさえ揃えば盗まれたもの全て総リニューアル
することになる。
今、財布の有難みを実感している。とーってもないと不便だとわかった。
こっちのお札は色、形が同じなので畳んでると今いくらあるのかわかりにくいのだ。
パートナーと従兄弟のGeneはポーカーに行ってしまったので、今日は
私がLaikaのお散歩当番。

久しぶりに別の公園に行ってみたらチキン（弱虫）同盟のMaxiが
後からやって来た。おおー、Laikaがこんなに楽しそうにあばれて
遊んでいるなんて。もちろん、Maxiのオーナーも同じ事を言っていた。
いっつも、別の犬の公園ではテーブルの下に居座ってしまうか、オーナーの
後ろをついて回るだけなのだ。


チキン同盟健在！！また遊んでね。

この3日続けて3本DVDを見た。どれも違うジャンルだったがみんなよかった。

ごきげんようみなさん。

年明けからいろんなスポーツや映画などおっきな賞が始まった。
普段はつまらないテレビだけれどこの時期はついみたくなってしまう。

今夜はゴールデングローブ賞
がやっているぞ。
いろんな女優さんや有名人たちがここぞとばかりにオシャレして来ている。
おやおや、そこにいるのはあきらかに太ってしまったマライヤ　キャリーではないか。
あんなにきれいだったのに。残念。

おおー、やっぱりジョージ　クルーニーはタキシードが似合ってるなあ。

パートナーのMr.Kのお気に入りのアクターPilip Seymour Hoffman
はきっと賞をとるだろう。5月にはトムクルーズの"MI3"
にでる予定だ。

この人に注目、Steve Carell。”The 40-year- old virgin"に出てた彼。
今年アニメの吹き替えでまたおもしろい役をやるらしい。

アメリカの役者さんたちはスピーチがうまいと思う。笑いも取りつつ短い間に
しゃべりまくる。

アカデミー賞はお堅い映画評論家が選ぶ賞らしく、ゴールデングローブ賞は
いろんなジャンルで自由に選ばれるものらしい。
いろいろと同性愛問題で話題になっている"Brokeback Mountain"。
さあ、お堅いアカデミー賞でどこまでくい込めるかな？

Scarlett johansson、まだ若いのになんて色気のある女優さんなんでしょう。
個人的にはあんなり好きではないけど。最近よくでまくっているなあ。


　

2006 ROUGH START

Happy New Year!!!

Unfortunately, 2006 has not been good to Miyuki. Her purse, which had her phone and camera inside, was stolen while at Starbucks. She spent most of the last couple of days cancelling credit cards and replacing her driver's license. We will try to replace her camera asap, but in the meanwhile, her contribution to this blog will be limited.

Finally saved enough money to buy and try a bottle of Ice Wine. It is quite sweet and fruity. Deceptively so; since the alcohol tends to sneak up on you. But very nice nevertheless.








For the last few days, I have devoted myself to putting together this 400+ piece Master Grade Gundam Mobile Suite. It is about 90% completed. Amazing the level of precision in these models. I remember when I was a child, building these models was all gluing and sanding. Now, every little piece fits together without any adhesive. Building this guy while listening to indi-pop on the radio has been very therapeutic. I highly recommand it.
